1) Corsairs Victim to Mind Games

After being selected as the Sports Editor of the Corsair Newspaper at Santa Monica College, I was required to focus more on developing the staff’s writing skills, editing, and page design as opposed to actual writing.

However, a student staff of writers with unpredictable attendance provided situations where I could once again hone my skills as a “sports writer” and take a story on myself. Here is my latest piece as the former award-winning editor.

At UCSB, I continued to look for other postions outside my role as a marketing manager where I could continue my passion for sports journalism.

At the end of my first year at the University, I found a home at UCSB Intercollegiate Athletics; serving as a paid intern in the Communications department, I announced and performed scorekeeping at home games before heading to the office and writing game recaps and previews.
